The information below can help with planning. The packages are meant to give you inspiration, can be what we build upon, or we can start your itinerary from scratch! If visiting Tanzania is part of a larger trip planned throughout Africa, we recommend at least 3 days (3-4 nights) and as many as…well, as many days as you would like!

- Flights between all destinations within the itinerary can be arranged instead of driving. Your guide will meet you at each airstrip upon arrival
- Any destination within the itinerary can be modified (extended, shortened) as requested; itinerary can also be reversed if desired

Safari Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Meet your guide and transfer to your accommodation near Tarangire National Park (approx. 2-3 hours).
Afternoon game drive in the northern section of Tarangire, known for its baobabs and elephant herds.
Overnight in Tarangire (Lodge or Tented Camp).
Day 2
Full-day game drive exploring the southern parts of Tarangire, offering a chance to see greater kudu, fringe-eared oryx, and a more remote safari experience.
Optional: Morning walking safari (if permitted and arranged).
Overnight in Tarangire (same or different Lodge/Camp).
Day 3
Final morning game drive in Tarangire.
Optional: Visit a local Maasai Boma near Tarangire for a cultural experience.
Afternoon transfer back to Arusha (approx. 2-3 hours).
Overnight in Arusha Town.
Day 4
Morning: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in Arusha.
Late Morning: Transfer to Arusha Airport (ARK) for a domestic flight to Dar Es Salaam (DAR) (approx. 1-1.5 hours).
Afternoon: Upon arrival in Dar Es Salaam, you will be met and transferred to Bagamoyo (approx. 1.5-2 hour drive north of Dar).
Late Afternoon: Check into your accommodation in Bagamoyo, a historical town with significant colonial-era ruins and a laid-back atmosphere.
Evening: Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach or explore the local markets. Have dinner at a restaurant in Bagamoyo, perhaps trying some fresh seafood.
Day 5
Full Day: Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Bagamoyo with a guided tour.
- Visit the Kaole Ruins, the remnants of a 13th-century Swahili settlement.
- Explore the Caravan Serai, a former resting point for slave and ivory caravans.
- See the Old German Boma and other colonial-era buildings.
- Visit the Catholic Mission Museum, which played a significant role in the region's history.
- Walk through the local fishing village and observe daily life.
Evening: Enjoy a relaxing evening in Bagamoyo. Consider a sunset dhow cruise (optional, if available).
Day 6
Option 1: Coastal Relaxation in Bagamoyo: Enjoy a day of relaxation on the beaches of Bagamoyo. You can swim, sunbathe, read a book, or simply soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Consider a visit to the Mlingotini Peninsula for pristine beaches.
Option 2: Transfer to Zanzibar: After breakfast, take a transfer back to Dar Es Salaam and then either a ferry or a short domestic flight to Zanzibar Island (Stone Town or your chosen beach destination). Check into your accommodation in Zanzibar.
Evening: Enjoy dinner at your chosen location (Bagamoyo or Zanzibar). In Zanzibar, Stone Town offers vibrant nightlife and delicious Swahili cuisine.
Day 7
Option 1 (If in Bagamoyo): Enjoy a final morning in Bagamoyo. You might choose to revisit a favorite spot, do some souvenir shopping, or simply relax before your transfer back to Dar Es Salaam for your international departure from JRO.

Option 2 (If in Zanzibar):
- Stone Town Exploration: If you're in Stone Town, embark on a guided historical and cultural tour, visiting sites like the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, the Slave Market, and the narrow alleyways.
- Beach Relaxation: If you're on the coast of Zanzibar, enjoy a day of sun, sand, and sea. Consider activities like snorkeling, diving, or a spice plantation tour (depending on your location).
- Evening: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ) for your international departure or take a ferry/flight back to Dar Es Salaam (DAR) for your onward journey from JRO.
